WINDLEY OSTRICH IN LILAC

Gretchen Bauer's inspiration for this amazing hand cut work of art comes from nature. As a child Gretchen would visit the neoclassical bird house that was a recreation of a tropical forest at America’s first zoo. She would get lost in the vibrant colors and melodic sounds that took her to a faraway place. Her favorite of all the exotic birds was the beautiful African Lilac Breasted Roller that clearly stood out with the most intense combination of colors. This very bird became her inspiration for this majestic color blocked Windley. 

With its front and back panels created with the coveted crown of the ostrich and having the rare, flattened pearls hand worked in France, this Windley is truly wearable art. The side panels and base are perfectly complimentary being adorned with aquamarine South African ostrich skin. It is no surprise that the lining is equally as bold in a chartreuse lambskin that perfectly completes this beautiful tropical shoulder bag.
